Image
We believe terrorism is getting worse. We’d like to introduce three graphs to support this point. The first one shows that Incidents and deaths from terrorism in the Sahel, 2007-2021. Unfortunately, Sahel has become the new epicenter of terrorism because of the lack of enough water and food, also a weak government. From 2017 to 2021, the numbers of incidents and deaths dramatically rose. If the problems that are lack of water and food don’t be solved, terrorisms will be happens in the future. The second one is about where the accident of terrorism was happened. As you can see, about 40% of accident of terrorism was happened in the Middle  East like Iraq or Afghanistan, which means it tend to be happening in developing countries. Unless the disparity between developing and developed countries is eliminated, terrorist incidents will not decrease and will get worse. The third graph shows what the terrorists are targeting. This chart shows that the main reasons for ter...

About Me -- David Woodfield

Image
Hi, my name is David Woodfield and I’m 59 years of age. I live in Maori Hill in Dunedin, NZ, together with my wife, Patricia, our dog, Neo, and my daughter's tuxedo cat, Beetlejuice. I like Dunedin because of its compact size and its hilly setting. It doesn't take long to go anywhere round town and I like the views that the hills afford. My favourite subject at high school was Art History.  I’m teaching this English language course in fulfilment of my duties as a teacher at the University of Otago. My likes include reading, watching TV and walking. I like reading books about faith, art & society. As for TV, I enjoy watching romantic movies. I like walking from my home to my office each day and taking Neo for walks around my neighbourhood . I’m not a fan of waiting in queues, eating chocolate that has a sticky or chewy centre, or trying to figure out what’s wrong when my computer isn’t doing what I want it to do. As for my good point, I would say it is that I’m optimistic. M...

Hello, my name is Mayuko and I’m 20 years old. I live in Moodie Street with Hughes family and two children. When I arrived at Dunedin, I was surprised at very beautiful scenery that Dunedin has. I’m so glad to come to New Zealand and to meet wonderful people. When I was a high school student, I’ve been preferred to study Japanese history because I wanted to know about Japan more and more as a Japanese and it was exciting for me to memorize a lot of things. I was looking forward to swimming in the summer! The reason why I came to New Zealand is that I want to improve my English and I wish I could speak English fluently when I go back to Japan. I like listening to KPOP music, reading comic books and talking with my friends and there isn’t what I do not like to do so I would like to tell the food that I cannot eat is mashroom. However, I wanted to try to read Japanese manga in English, so I decided to study English hard. My hobby is listening to music, watching a movie, reading books, and talking to people. Lately, I have been into ''Murder Mystery''. I have made many friends on Twitter who share the same interests. If you don't know about it, please check it out.
