About me -- Kana Ito

Hello. I am Kana Ito and 19 years old. I live in Glenross street with the Jackson family. Ten days have been passed since I came to Dunedin, and my impressions of here are nice buildings and shops in the town. There is a nice mall near the bus hub and get everything I need, but we do not have much buses. It is a little bit inconvenience for me. My favorite subject was English and had been to Australia for about three months to study when I was a high school student. I  take this course only three weeks because I will take university paper after three weeks. I love Japanese rock band and always listen them in my free time. When I was in Japan, I often go to the concerts of them. To the contrary, I do not like playing sports. I cannot play any sports, but I like to take a walk because I need no skills to walk. I think I am a positive and efficient person, so I can do things well, but I sometimes have no confidence. That is why I want to improve my English skills and my goal is to talk in English super fluently and confidently. Thank you for reading!!

    I think your sentence ''ten days have been passed...'' is a good expression. It is easy to understand. And your hobby is cool!

    Hi Kana, what Japanese bands do you like best & why? I like music too. Recently I have been listening to the Jazz vocalist Nina Simone, the singer songwriter Bob Dylan, the New Zealand folk singer Natalie Reid and the New Zealand electronica group Shapeshifter. I would recommend you listen to any of the above. David :-)

      Thank you, David. My favorite band in Japan is "go!go!vanillas". Their songs are super nice and their cool concerts always give me a courage. I really appreciate your recommendation and will listen them!

About me -- Shiho Matsuura

  Hello, class! I’m Shiho and from Japan. Also, I’m 19 years old and now live in Kaikorai with Hilary who is my host mother. I have impressed a nature, a view from my home and a wood stove. I like Dunedin because there’s no high buildings and Dunedin is a beautiful streetscape. Sometimes, I miss Japan and soaking in the bathwater. My favorite subject was Japanese because I like classic so in Japanese classes I could read Japanese classic literature. I chose this course because I want to improve my English enough to discuss difficult problems. Also, my hobby is dance and I love music.
