About me -- Usa Yamagami

     Hello. My name is Usa Yamagami. Please call me Usa. I am 20 years old now. I live in Belleknowes, Dunedin with Barbara and Kelvin, and their son, Phoenix. As soon as I arrived, I thought it was very cold! And I envy New Zealanders because they have a lot of lands. I came from Osaka, Japan, and it is cramped with a lot of buildings. In fact, when I was in high school, Japanese was my favorite of all subjects. Because I like Japanese novels and comics. However, I wanted to try to read Japanese manga in English, so I decided to study English hard. My hobby is listening to music, watching a movie, reading books, and talking to people. Lately, I have been into ''Murder Mystery''. I have made many friends on Twitter who share the same interests. If you don't know about it, please check it out. I don’t like cooking and cleaning, so I think I can’t live alone! 😂 My good point is that I have self-paced, and I think my bad point is also self-paced. Finally, I would like to study hard in New Zealand, and I want to read Japanese comics in English! Nice to meet you!

    Manga are indeed a passion for many people! What kinds of Japanese comics do you like? My son used to enjoy the Detective Conan series when he was younger. Are you a fan of science fiction, sports, romance, samurai or gangster manga, or a fan of some other genre?

About me -- Shiho Matsuura

  Hello, class! I’m Shiho and from Japan. Also, I’m 19 years old and now live in Kaikorai with Hilary who is my host mother. I have impressed a nature, a view from my home and a wood stove. I like Dunedin because there’s no high buildings and Dunedin is a beautiful streetscape. Sometimes, I miss Japan and soaking in the bathwater. My favorite subject was Japanese because I like classic so in Japanese classes I could read Japanese classic literature. I chose this course because I want to improve my English enough to discuss difficult problems. Also, my hobby is dance and I love music. For example, I often listen to rhythm and blue and also my host mother likes music so we sometimes listen it together.
