Past Pandemics:A Refection -- Owen

About this week's theme -- epidemic. I have some opinions and suggestions. As for the three extremely dangerous epidemics of bubonic plague, cholera and Spanish influenza, I find that they have a common feature, that is, they cover a wide range of people. No matter what kind of disease, there are many countries and millions of deaths. This is what surprises me most about the epidemic. Among them, bubonic plague is the most terrible, because it is the most infectious. So I think even under the condition of such a high level of medical technology nowadays, people should always be vigilant and take protective measures against this series of epidemics. All possibilities to prevent him from breaking out before it happens. Like covid-19 today, it has inevitably occurred and even appeared in most countries. People want to eliminate it as soon as possible and completely, which requires the joint efforts and cooperation between the government and the people. Of course, the premise is that people are really aware of the sense of crisis. The only advantage of the epidemic may be that it makes this generation realize the harm of the epidemic, which is positive for the prevention and control of epidemics in the future.

  1. I also think bubonic plaque was the most terrifying disease in the world. I am happy that I live in this era.

  2. In order to solve those kinds of problems, I think sharing information among countries is the most important. Spanish flu spread because most countries hide the fact. That's why all of government should have responsibility to inform.
