Boyan Slat & The Ocean Cleanup -- Owen

  On the issue of marine pollution, my view is the same as Boyan Slat. Ocean cleaning is urgent! Why is marine pollution getting more and more serious? It is so serious that even human beings are unwilling to face their own damage to the marine environment -- oil and its products, heavy metals, plastic products and other chemical raw materials are poured into the sea -- various pathogenic bacteria are rampant, and the temperature, salinity, oxygen level of the sea are changed, even full of toxins -- a large number of marine organisms die, and the chain of marine organisms is seriously damaged -- human health and all marine related industries are adversely affected. This is a long list of results caused by long-term human misconduct. It is almost impossible to solve the problem quickly and with less money. This is also the reason why Boyan Slat's project is not promising. However, it is precisely because of the emergence of Boyan Slat and his team, with people who are really willing to act and who master the technology, the ocean cleaning operation can be really implemented instead of small-scale cleaning. I think that even if there is little hope, people should give full support to Boyan Slat, because his actions are related to the living environment of all mankind. We should give more consideration to the future. If we always turn a blind eye to marine pollution and delay again and again, the result will be that one day in the future people will find that the ocean has been overwhelmed and even the marine system will be destroyed. So I support Boyan Slat's project.

  Boyan Slat's unremitting spirit is the biggest reason for his achievement, and this is what other people should learn. When he was looked down upon by most people, he chose to continue his research silently and improve his technology. Dedication, hard work and never giving up are all his indispensable personal characteristics. It is precisely because of these that he has gathered so many talents and friends to work with him for this project. He deserves respect.

  Finally, on the issue of how successful ocean cleaning will be, I think that as long as we persist, we will certainly make great progress. This not only requires the efforts of Boyan Slat's team, but also requires everyone in the world to realize that it is everyone's responsibility to protect the environment.
