What I Wish I Had Known About Kiwi Culture -- Tamon Yamamoto
All I wanted to know before I came to New Zealand was that I could drive a car in New Zealand if I got an international driver's license. In New Zealand, trains are not the main mode of transportation, but buses are. Buses are frequently late and it is very difficult to arrive on time. However, if you can drive a car, it is very convenient because you can travel at your own time. So I wanted to know that I could get an international driver's license before I came to New Zealand.
Interesting thought, Tamon :-). Getting round by car is convenient in many respects. There are costs involved though in buying, maintaining, insuring and fueling a vehicle and it isn't usually easy to find parking spots near campus. I personally walk to campus each day. It takes me half an hour here & half an hour home. This isn't so easy though for those who live further away from campus. David :-)
ReplyDeleteI think you should have a go with it!
ReplyDeleteYou love driving so much! It is unfortunate that you can't drive in this country:(
ReplyDeleteI too think that the bus is sometimes late or doesn't come. I hope that I can get a driver's license in New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't convenient to commute by bus, so I wanted to have driver license, too. but we can see a beautiful view of NZ buy bus.
