My Ideal School -- Shiho Matsuura
To my ideal school, there are two campuses. A First one is an ecology campus, and a second one is a high technology campus. If you learned about how to grow plants and about insects thorough unconventional ways like outside study, you can go to the eco campus. This campus is connected to natures closely. For example, there are many kinds of plants and insects in a school museum at an eco-campus. Also, this campus is made from plants which are bamboo and plants, so this campus is kindly for an environment. Next, when we study science and technology or learn how to use computers and machines, we can go to the high technology campus. There are many kinds of high-tech machines and computers there.
2.Abot
subjects
There are compulsory subjects, and we can select of subjects which we study. For example, compulsory things are morals and languages like English and Japanese and so on. On the other hand, music, art, math, and physical education are not compulsory. However, there could be some practical problems. For example, we can select of subjects which we study so student might only select of subjects they like. This is biased. To solve this problem, mentors should check their studies and a progress. If their progress is not good, they should give advice to help them. A Mentor’s jobs are only checking their progress and giving advice.
3.Abot tests
There are only small tests like David’s vocabulary tests to improve their knowledge and find good and weak points of students for studying. Making small tests is also a mentor’s job. I think that big tests are not necessary because they are stressful for students. Also, students’ attitudes like aggressiveness are other kinds of assessment.
In conclusion, I think an ideal school should be not stressful and fun for students.
Interesting post, Shiho, many educators have tried to make the school environment a low-stress and enjoyable place, with the expectation that such an environment will foster learning.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, how would you assess 'aggressiveness'? And do you see this quality as one to be nurtured or one to be discouraged?
David :-)
I think your ideal school is nice. I want to study both in a low stress and fun places!
ReplyDeleteYour structure is interesting, and I agree with your opinion that schools should be free stress.

ReplyDeleteyour idea is wonderful. I want to take a exam to enter your school.
ReplyDeleteI like your thoughtful and balanced ideal school.
ReplyDeleteHi, Shiho! Your ideal school is interesting. I admire the fact that there is a lot of nature, but I am not a fan of insects, so I would go to a high technology campus.
