My ideal school -- Mashiro Yamashita
My ideal school is to combine many ways of studying. I have came up with this school because I hadn’t decided what is most important in education.
At
first, we will combine study inside and outside. Sometimes, students will study
inside at a desk, and sometimes they will study outside like growing vegetables
or flowers. By doing this, students can learn knowledge which is important in
the future. In addition, they can appreciate nature and the environment in our
life.
Second,
we will use both book and Internet. Today, media literacy and knowledge of
using Internet are very important because more and more people use the Internet
all over the world. However, some people like using books to study. For example,
when I was a junior high school student, I always used the book to remember
English words, because it was easy to write in the book and I could carry it
easily. Therefore, students can receive benefit of both of them.
Third, students will study at a desk and in groups. Sometimes studying independently at a desk is important because they should learn standard knowledge from their teachers. Without knowledge, we can’t think on my own. On the other hand, studying in groups is important, too, because we can know about other’s feelings or the ways of thinking. In addition, we can get speaking and listening skills.
Some students may not like this way because they want to only do one thing like studying outside. However, I think everything is important. Therefore, teachers should teach students an importance of varieties. By doing so, students may understand. This is my ideal school.

A thoughtful and balanced approach, Mashiro, nice. I have long thought an eclectic approach to education is worthwhile. Of course one can learn from both listening to their teacher talking and from talking with their fellow students. It doesn't need to be "either or." It can be "both and."

Such a great school! This school of system is well-balanced and I can guess you thought a lot about your ideal school.
ReplyDeleteAs you described above, some students don't like this way, but it would have good influence on them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good school. I want to go to your school.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with your opinion. I think thinking outside the box will help students work creatively in their future. Also, they can be eco-friendly through outdoor activities.
ReplyDeleteI like your ideal school because you seems that you focus on balances. I think keeping nice balances is important.
ReplyDeleteHi, Mashiro! Your ideal school is interesting. Since most Japanese schools have indoor classes, it is nice to have an out-of-school learning experience.
